Design problem:

How do we allow for quick on-screen touch keyboard dismissal without adding any new buttons/tap targets to the SIP?

Role:

Full design ownership

Collapsed actions into a single button, create a new icon. Change usual placement of keyboard flyouts to maintain tap target & allow for faster dismissal.

Results:

Tablet users who use the on-screen keyboard easily learned to double-tap on the same target to dismiss the keyboard. It allowed engineering to focus on larger updates for the future while solving for short-term discoverability in the timeframe of Windows 8.1.
